Mounted War Games XI

Welcome to Mounted War Games XI, the largest equestrian event in the Middle Kingdom! Join us September 1st thru the 5th at the Wells County Fairgrounds located at 1240 4-H Park Road, Bluffton, Indiana.

Rapier Schedule

Friday

8pm: Twilight Cookie Tourney. This is a “pay” to play tournament. Bring some cookies to buy into the tournament. Challenge whomever you want, bet your cookies. The person with the biggest sugar rush at the close “wins.” Length TBD. Health and Safety requirements will be posted. Stay tuned for updates.

Saturday to Sunday

Prima Spada Tourney:

Got “an issue” with a fellow fencer? Settle it here. Issue your challenge, get your Second to negotiate terms, and reserve your time in the squared Circle. An uninvolved Marshal must be present, hence the need to book your timeslot.

Saturday

9am: Open for Inspections and Authorizations.

10am: Challenge Tourney. Fight as much or as little as you like. Pick an opponent, go fence, report your outcome. Conditions for a tournament win to be determined. 

Noon: Break for lunch.

1pm: Short Sword Tournament. Swords of 36 inches or less must be used as the primary weapon Blades in excess of that length will not be allowed. *Note: Some leeway will be granted on length. See MiC for details.

2pm: Long Sword Tournament. Swords of 36 inches or more must  be used as the primary weapon. Blades shorter than that will not be allowed. *Note: Some leeway will be granted on length. See MiC for details.

3pm: Open list for sparring, teaching, and finishing any authorizations permitted.

4:30pm: Lists Close. *Note that this time may change based on Court and/or Dinner plans.

Sunday

10am: List opens for Inspections and Authorizations.

11am: Single Blade Tourney. Challenge format, limited to single blades only.

Noon: Break for Lunch. 

1pm: Matched Styles Tournament. Fencers much match styles. Choice for each pairing to be made by the combatant with the least time Authorized.

2pm: “Rent-a-List” Tourney. The List is available for a visiting Marshal to host a Tourney. This includes a C&T format.

3:30pm: Open list for sparring, teaching, and finishing any authorizations permitted.

4:30pm: Lists Close. *Note that this time may change based on Court and/or Dinner plans.
